Winter Weather Causes Me Computer Headaches & Grace Is Gone

We got nailed here in Michigan with a ton of wet heavy snow. Our power went out briefly a couple of times. Then the next day I couldn't get online. I think the power surge fried my router or something. I guess you really don't realize just how much you depend on being online untill you can't get online. Being online is now more important than being able to watch television. Actually neither is important, but in my mind they both are. It is good to get away from being online for a couple of days, but after that I need my online fix. Sad but true. Of course I also need to be online for Gamefly and Netflix. Speaking of computers I think it's time I went out and bought another one. This one is four years old now and has a few issues. I just don't want to spend the money on one.

Ever watch movies that make you cry? I rarely ever cry because of a movie, but man the movie Grace Is Gone really destroyed me. John Cusack was great in his role as the father of two young daughters who lose their mother to the war in Iraq. It was heart wrenching. Of course it also hit home for me because I was very young when I lost my father to cancer. I think this may have been Cusacks's best performance.

I still have my first PC which I bought from Dell in, around 2001 or so. It was topmof the line, then. Cost $1,800 or so. Today I can get one twice as good for about half that price, but mine still works fine. I only have 512mb of MDRAM, which is not half what I'd need if I used the latest Windows.

I will download this film but I'm not in the mood for a sad film right now. I'll save it for another time.

Saddest film I've ever seen was Miachael Keaton in "My Life" you wouldn't be able to handle it.Keaton is dying of cancer, and his wife is pregnant. So he records video of all the things he would be doing with his son as he grows up. For his son to watch.

I've never seen My Life. Now I want to, but I don't think I need another downer of a movie right away. I probably wouldn't be able to handle it. That's just too close to home.

My PC problem is that I have a 14 year old who likes to go to fucked up sites with tons of spyware and adware. She also downloads fucked up things that she shouldn't. I may end up buying a laptop just for my own personal use. That way If it runs like shit it will be my fault and only my fault.

I watched Grace is Gone based on your recommendations. I guess I better stick to your game recommendations in the future. hahaha.

It was ok but very boring. I do understand the point of the movie and I have no idea how I would tell my kids something like that. But still, the movie was pretty boring.

Games I'm Playing:

Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360)

I'm 38. I'm addicted to Xbox 360 gaming and Dallas Stars hockey. I make a decent living at a boring job where I run two autoclaves and do various other tasks. My escape from this boring as hell life is video games, hockey, and music. I generally listen to Metal music, but I also love 80's tunes as well as 70's tunes. I have an unusual love for the band Overkill. They do it for me for some reason. Blitz is GOD!
